About

Biography

Starting out as a graphic designer, illustrator and hyperrealist painter, Enrico Formica has forged ahead with the implementation of technological tools in his photography. At the same time he still succeeds in retaining the image’s pictorial origin in his shots. Since 1976 to the present day he has worked non-stop on commissioned works (environmental portraits, lifestyle, still life, reproductions of works of art) for advertising agencies, companies, organisations and Italian and international publishers. One of his priorities, however, has always been to leave ample scope for research and experimentation. Over 280 upmarket editorial publications feature Enrico’s photographs that are chiefly shot in large and medium analog format. He has developed his own personal technique and design for shooting spherical photographs using special equipment in order to capture a 360° panorama in one single frame, without need for any subsequent modification.
